The average candidate for the top schools typically has a college degree and about 4-5 years of work experience. However, there are people who apply with many more years of work experience under their belt. The key point to remember here is that the 4-5 years is really for you to show the admissions committee that you have accomplished some great things already, not just that you have been sitting at your job for some time. Don¡¯t rush into the application process if you are not ready. If you need to take an additional year or two to prepare then do it. As you read through this guide, you will get a better idea of what I am talking about.
